Our Foundation
Bluebird Logistics was founded on the vision and inspiration of logistics professional Nancy Merritt, whose career in the transportation and logistics industry spans more than two decades. After spending over 20 years working across multiple areas of freight brokerage and supply chain operations, Nancy developed a deep understanding of the complexities of the logistics industry as well as the opportunities for innovation, leadership, and empowerment within it. Throughout her career, Nancy observed that the logistics and freight brokerage industry has historically been dominated by male leadership. Rather than viewing this as a barrier, she saw it as an opportunity to lead by example.
Building Bluebird Logistics
Inspired to create a company that reflected her values, experience, and determination, she established Bluebird Logistics with the goal of building a high-performing third-party logistics brokerage while also creating opportunities for women to succeed in the transportation industry. The name Bluebird represents optimism, reliability, and forward movement; qualities that mirror both the company's approach to freight brokerage and Nancy's personal philosophy on leadership. From the beginning, Bluebird Logistics was designed to be more than a logistics company; it was envisioned as a platform for mentorship, professional growth, and empowerment.
